Linda has been interested in art from childhood. At 11 years old she entered and won first place and a cash award in an art coloring contest by a local department store.
Self-taught, Linda advanced her knowledge of painting primarily from her artist mother and being surrounded by art, artists, and art events. A move to England on a military tour brought Linda the opportunity to visit churches and art galleries in Europe and observe works of the Old Masters. This gave her a new appreciation for their masterful techniques of which she says, "There is nothing like the experience of up-close personal observation."
Linda leans toward realism and drama in her work with emphasis on the interplay of darks and lights. Her medium is acrylic or oil on canvas or panel board.
She is an active member of the Coeur d’Alene Art Association and currently serves on the Board of Directors.
