Oil & Acrylic Painter
Although always drawing and sketching from childhood, oil and acrylic painting only began as an adult in Oregon at a local art class and culminated with formal studies at Kachina School of Art in Phoenix, AZ. This was followed with further studies in Portraiture from renown muralist and portrait artist, the late Jay Datus.
As well as painting portraits, I am also moved by the natural beauty of the outdoor west. In my effort to capture some of these scenes I use traditional technics (inspired by the Old Masters) and a combination of impressionism and realism in oil or acrylic on canvas or panel board.
After living in Arizona and having painted the colorful scenes and faces of the Southwest for many years, I am now retired in beautiful Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, and again enjoying painting the magnificent beauty of the Northwest.
